Hybrid displaying error codes after accident

Asked by Teri Sep 11, 2016 at 01:50 PM about the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 Honda civic hybrid was in a front end
collision with a deer and had to ah be extensive
body work repairs, as well as radiator and
condenser replacement. The day after getting it
back my engine light came ine, as well as my IMA
light.  The engine light has been constantly since
but IMA only comes on when car has been running
for a little while.  Also, when a/c is on, IMA comes
on faster, and then the car stsrts bogging down
and a/c compressor clutch shuts it off and back
on every few seconds.  Of I turn off ac, bog stops
and car runs ok again. Took to auto zone and got
EGR replacement and battery module deterioration
codes.  Since this is new since the accident, I'm
trying to determine if they are related to the
collision.  I'm very fruatrated, because the car
worked great before all of this, and I'm very careful
on my maintenance.
Thoughts?

Yes, I agree with Jim in that part of the repair process after an accident if dealing with the insurance companies is the assurance that your car is back to normal. It sounds like the auto body specialists may have disconnected a ground wire or some other connection crucial to the hybrid vehicles. Call your insurance company and demand it be taken care of and you will need a rental car during that time.
