Hello!  Does a 2001 Mercury Cougar have a "thermo time switch"?  If so,  how do i fix it?

Ford dealer,or AutoZone type parts house, switch is located where upper rad hose connects to engine drver side grey connector,or black its been awhile there may be two sensors side by side one runs cold start,one runs fan.
