2018 Highlander Rear Hatch

My 2018 LE Highlander's rear hatch was recently touched up. Looks great.
The only problem is now the rear hatch will not close properly. It will open all
the way, close, and then beep twice and pop open. It is only open a couple
of inches.

I tried to reset it by letting it open completely and held the close button for 5
seconds and waited for 4 beeps. Nothing. Still malfunctions.

Any suggestions? Anyone else have this happen?

Inspect the latch. It may need adjusting or maybe it has masking tape stuck in it.
