Blue Dodge Light on a 2010 Journey SXT

Asked by Kip Sep 03, 2020 at 11:34 AM about the 2010 Dodge Journey SXT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My moms 2010 Dodge Journey SXT battery keeps going dead. I replaced
with a new one yesterday and it started right up and worked fine. When I
went to leave I noticed on the instrument cluster that a blue Dodge emblem
light was still on on the cluster. She said it wouldn't start this morning, she
had radio, lights etc but when she went to start it the cluster just flickered.
She said she noticed the blue dodge symbol and never noticed it before.
Could it or the cluster slowly be draining overnight? Thank you

Double check battery terminals, I had a battery replace and it was old enough, then 6 months later car wouldn’t start and when I tested it from the jump Livs, it tested bad, so I pulled the battery and it tested fine, I found a crack in the terminal clamp and after I Cleaned the battery post and replaced the connection it worked great. It had enough power for lights and radio but when I tried to start it total blackout, I was worried it was something major but that was a minor problem and an easy fix, hardest part was just getting to the battery, worst battery placement.
