my 96 Ford Taurus won't start unless on charger

My 96 ford Taurus wont start unless on
charger no power no click when key turned
to on starts up on charger stays running
when positive is removed and neg. Still
attached.

Not sure the guy I bought it from was the 2nd owner and it sat fir for 5 months before I bought it

Do you have a voltmeter? Probe the battery. It should read 12.5V. If it's lower than 12V, replace the battery.
