Throttle control light keeps coming on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I am the definition of a youtube mechanic. I hate my car and sometimes I
think about blowing it up, but I can't afford a mechanic so I have to try and fix
it myself. Well this pos has me stumped. The check is on, P0507, which
basically means it's making too many RPMs at idle. I looked it up and the
internet said it's probably a dirty throttle body. Welp I cleaned that mf (which
was definitely needed. the little circle thing couldn't even move all the way)
and it helped but my car is still doing this weird thing. It will be completely fine
until it will randomly throw on a red throttle control light and a yellow traction
control light. At this point the accelerator barely works. it yoyos between
working fine and not accelerating. however, if I turn the car off and on again it
works fine for a bit. my best guess is the throttle position sensor needs
replaced, but if there is literally anything else I can do for it please let me
know. There also appears to be an air leak on the big hose that connects from
the engine to the radiator at the connector on the radiator side. I have no idea
what to do for that other than throw a hose clamp on it. Any advice is
appreciated. Except for going to a mechanic because I don't have the money
to be able to do that. I apologize for the crude nature of this question but this
thing has me at my wits end. Please note that all the car knowledge I have is
against my will and I probably won't understand technical terms. Thanks.

P0507 is a vacuum leak in most instances. The throttle body might still need some cleaning if it was really bad, lets hope you didn't damage it. The IAC sensor might also be the issue. But like you said, you don't have money to diagnose it correctly, so you have to throw parts at it. A hose from the engine to the actual radiator wouldn't be an air leak, but a coolant leak. If you are talking about a hose near the radiator, , then yes, you want to seal it up. That would be the vacuum leak and possible the issue that is causing the code. Duct tape might work in a pinch until you can get a new hose.
