Both my low beams on my 2001 vw bug went out at the same time

the low beams went out at the same time. one low beam is only 3 months old
and the other low beams is only 10 months old why did this happen?

Are you touching the bulbs with your fingers when you install them? The oil from your fingers makes the bulbs burn out faster, makes the bulbs get hotter than there suppose to. You use a cloth to insulate your fingers to the bulbs when installing them.
