Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I swapped motor ecm ucm dash
and key switch with key. Is there
anything else I need to change the
original motor was a 2.0 and I
swapped to a 1.8 so I figured it
needed the proper brains for the
engine and trans and the dash
and key to match. All parts are
from the same doner car.

If it's working when you pour fuel in the intake, then it's a fuel problem. Check your fuel pump and fuel regulator
When I replaced the dash gauges to mat h the key and ignition the strip quit so do I need to change the strip from my donor car were I got the rest of my parts the radio in the car I'm building now say sorting to the effect that the security has shut the radio down.
Im sorry it's supposed to say stereo quit working when I changed the gauges
If your not a vw techand really familiar with the security in my 03 jetta then your wasting my time
The security shuts off fuel I've figured that part out
