hi i bought a vw trike which is missing the starter. there are no serial numbers on the chassis. how do i measure the chassis in order to find the correct starter?

Unknown chassis, missing serial numbers, measurements: 4.495 bolt distance, 3 inch inner bore, 2.898 shaft depth. I need to match these to the new starter. how do I go about buying this particular starter? thank you, rich

Without knowing at least the year model,make,s this tuff,but i can only guess that it is a 70,s model bug motor,and the good thing is 1970-1984 are the same,

The bolt pattern is 10o'clock 4o'clock with the solenoid at 12o'clock That is the main problem I am experiencing when matching the 1970 to 1984 starter.
