Road Feels Rough, Even When Smooth Only When Accelerating

Asked by Lurn Sep 11, 2020 at 02:08 AM about the 1999 Mercury Cougar V6 Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi! My car is grinding when accelerating, anywhere
from 15-75 Mph. It feels almost as if the road is
getting rough, even if the road is smooth, and
stops AS SOON as I stop accelerating and drop the
pedal. It will usually stop for about 2-4 minutes
then start again. It stops when I drop the pedal and
start accelerating immediately again.

1 Answer

LUCK! Like a bad ujoint. It could be wheel bearing. I'm not a mechanic. Just trying to help from experience. Good luck
