Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Mercury Cougar V6. I have placed a
new battery in it and it is still having no power. It
doesn't even make any noise at all. I have no lights
or anything at all. I checked my fuses too and
those look fine. Any clues as to what it could be?

Now just wondering where the short could be. We are short on mechanics where I live. What tool do I need to find it?
