It comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) and in four trim levels. Look and feel

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited, priced at $42,083, presented a fully-loaded package that seemed excessive for a RAV4. Despite its high-end features, it resembled a standard rental car model. The trim level lacked the larger wheels found on the non-hybrid RAV4 Limited and missed out on the Adventure trim level due to its electronic AWD system. The RAV4 Hybrid had a tough exterior, needing only bolder wheels to enhance its look. Inside, it was stylish and practical, though quality varied with a mix of impressive materials and glossy hard plastics. A rattle from the license plate was a minor annoyance.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue, redesigned in 2021, continued its mature styling into the new model year. It featured a V-motion grille, multi-level LED headlights, and active grille shutters for improved airflow. The floating roof and bulging liftgate added to its sleek appearance. Inside, the Rogue had a layered dash with contrasting colors and surfaces, a space-efficient center console with an electronic gear selector, and ample storage options. The 9-inch infotainment display and Zero Gravity front seats enhanced the cabin's appeal, while the roomy second row provided good legroom and comfort.

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid combined a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine with front and rear electric motors, producing 219 horsepower. The front electric motor generated 149 lb-ft of torque, and the rear motor added 89 lb-ft. The hybrid system offered multiple driving modes, including Eco, Normal, Sport, Trail, and EV. The RAV4 Hybrid weighed between 3,690 and 3,780 pounds, providing lively acceleration despite the engine's unpleasant sound at high revs. It achieved an EPA rating of 40 mpg combined, with a tested average of 39.7 mpg. The CVT operated smoothly, and the regenerative braking system was effective. The suspension and steering provided a comfortable and controlled ride, though the tires lacked grip in corners.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue introduced a new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, improving performance over the previous model. The engine's variable compression technology adjusted the combustion chamber size for optimal power and efficiency. The Rogue achieved an EPA rating of 30 mpg city/37 mpg highway/33 mpg combined. The new CVT offered wider gear ratios, enhancing acceleration and responsiveness. The chassis and suspension delivered a smooth ride with minimal body roll, and the electric power-assisted steering provided good feedback. The Rogue's performance was lively and efficient, making it a capable daily driver.
