2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD Reviews Summary

Few automakers have developed sub-brands with as much recognition as “Denali.” More than just a trim level, it’s a luxury brand with its own identity, somewhat separate from the rest of the GMC “Professional Grade” lineup. Today, GMC offers a Denali trim on every model, from the midsize Canyon pickup to the full-size Yukon SUV. The Denali treatment extends to the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD, too. Not only is it one of the most expensive trucks on the U.S. market, but it’s also one of the most capable and upscale trucks offered by General Motors.

Trucks are more comfortable than ever and you can thank the Denali for many of those creature comforts becoming commonplace. But the Sierra Denali does not stand alone. Both Ford and Ram offer upscale pickups, and in the past decade or so, they’ve gotten a lot better at it. Ram has done a whole lot of innovating when it comes to trucks as well. Has the Denali has been overtaken by the competition that it helped create?

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Reviews Summary

Full-size heavy-duty trucks are built with a purpose. Whereas many light-duty trucks are many things to many buyers, heavy-duty pickups do all these things plus tow and haul an incredible amount. This would seem like an incredible challenge; offer all the creature comforts and amenities you might find in a family sedan but with world-beating capability. And yet massive trucks like the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD are able to expertly deliver on these day-to-day needs while also being some of the most capable vehicles on the road today.

The 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD was a behemoth of a truck, prioritizing function over form. Its massive grille fed multiple radiators, ensuring the engine and other subsystems were always ready for serious work. The Denali trim stood out with its extensive use of chrome, including a large chrome grille and chrome wheels. The Denali was available in several premium exterior colors, with Onyx Black being particularly popular. Despite its flashy appearance, the Denali was still a workhorse at heart, with a full leather interior, wood-grain inserts, and a Bose premium sound system. However, the fit-and-finish of the cabin left something to be desired, especially when compared to competitors like the Ram 2500 Limited.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD had a polarizing design, with a front end and grille that resembled a vintage furnace or a freight train. Despite its unconventional exterior, the cabin was more traditional and spacious, offering plenty of headroom and legroom. The Silverado 3500HD was available in several trims, including the W/T, LT, LTZ, and High Country. The High Country trim featured luxury touches like heated and ventilated front seats, chrome side steps, and a Bose premium sound system. The Silverado also offered practical features like bed steps integrated into the corners of the rear bumper and additional step-ups along the side of the bed.
