About 2024 Hyundai Elantra N
Hyundai has become a surprisingly enthusiast-friendly brand in recent years, releasing a range of performance vehicles under its N branding. The Veloster N hatchback was first, and the line now includes the Elantra N, Kona N, and Ioniq 5 N. The Elantra N blends sedan sensibilities with a rowdy turbocharged four-cylinder engine and aggressive styling that set it apart from the standard cars. ## What’s New for the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Hyundai gave the Elantra N a facelift for 2024, which brought new bumpers, updated exterior lighting, and new wheel designs. Inside, the seats are new, and Hyundai revised the car’s shift knob and steering wheel. ## Design Though it’s unmistakable as an Elantra, the N has more aggressive styling in the front and rear. Hyundai gave it a larger front fascia with prominent air intakes and a sleek black grille, and around the back, the car features a decklid spoiler and dual exhaust outlets. It also features red accents around the rockers and lower bumpers, and the 2024 model year brought new wheel designs. ## Powertrain The star of the show is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making up to 286 horsepower using the temporary overboost feature. An eight-speed automatic transmission is available, but the six-speed manual is an excellent option. The car also gets a range of go-fast parts, including a trick front differential and nicely tuned sports suspension. The run to 60 mph takes a little less than five seconds with the automatic transmission, and the manual is slightly slower. ## Interior Hyundai left much of the Elantra N’s cabin alone, but it did get more aggressively bolstered sport seats and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The seats come wrapped in synthetic suede, and the cabin features N badges in several spots. The back seat is surprisingly spacious, and the car has no trouble accommodating five adults. ## Technology The Elantra N comes standard with a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.3-inch touchscreen running Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, and more. Hyundai’s infotainment software isn’t as flashy or colorful as many, but that simplicity makes it a joy to use while driving and less distracting for the driver. ## Safety The 2024 Elantra earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2023 calendar year, but it hasn’t been tested for 2024. It comes standard with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention warnings, automatic high beams, and a safe-exit warning system. ## Pricing Pricing for the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N starts at $32,900. The car comes in one trim level, but buyers can add the eight-speed automatic transmission for $1,500. Accessories, such as floor mats, are also available.
