Overview

The 2000 Toyota 4Runner remained almost identical to the 1999 model, with a base engine of a 2.7-liter I4, and a 3.4-liter V6 as an upgrade (also standard on the Limited model).
Toyota seemed to concentrate on improving the rear end of this model, with chrome bumpers and a rear defroster and intermittent wiper. The 4Runner did not need many other improvements to its exterior: it was consistently praised for its style and ground clearance.
Owners and reviewers continued to complain about the weakness of the I4. How do you power such a large truck on so little power? The engine has to be revved hard to reach the 150 horsepower the brochures claim it is rated.

This SUV has been a great addition to our family. It looks sharp, it's durable, roomy, and safe, and is in really good condition. It drives great and has all working features, automatic sun roof, power locks on doors, heater in front and back, a/c, tow package.

These particular 4runners are still in high demand for starter SUVs or that 4WD enthusiast wanting a little more room than a Jeep. The electronic Differential control works well for occasional off roading or boat ramps. The seating wears well and can be easily maintained or replaced at a very low cost if required. Maintenance on toyota trucks is legendarily affordable and many owners are getting in excess of 400K miles out of the truck with routine maintenance. These factors combine to provide a great all around SUV, and for the money, it's a steal.

One of the best offroad vehicles you can buy. The 4runner never stops amazing me of it's capabilities. Comfort is amazing , with moderate fuel economy. Cargo room is not an issue when it comes to the 4runner. Will never get rid of this rig.
