The 2000 Ford Expedition continued to be a favorite with drivers looking for a roomy full-sized SUV with an accent on comfort. For the 2000 model year, Ford made power adjustable brake and accelerator pedals a standard, which made the Expedition even more popular with soccer moms.
Three trim lines were offered for the 2000 Expedition: XLT, Special Edition and Eddie Bauer. The Eddie Bauer and Special Edition trim provided luxury features like leather upholstery and captain's-chair front seats; a new option for 2000 was a rear entertainment system.
Under the hood, the 2000 Ford Expedition offered two choices of engine: a Triton V-8 4.6 liter overhead cam with 240 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, or a Triton V8 5.4 liter overhead cam that delivered 260 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. That kind of power enabled the Expedition to tow up to 8,000 pounds.
What's the bad news? Gas mileage, of course. 12 mpg city, 16 mpg highway (Triton 5.4); it's a hefty price to pay at the pump. But many drivers think the spaciousness, durability, and comfort of their Ford Expedition are worth it!

They all seem to have electrical problems but motor and transmissions are strong

It's a great feeling driving something that is bigger than everything else, save tractor-trailers. It handles well, considering the fact that it's a truck. An aftermarket exhaust and air filter makes this thing rumble. Thrilling!

This car, I inherited from my aged father, who does not need to drive anymore ( at least thats what the department of motor vehicles may have told him after he tried driving to Lebanon from to he United States ) But this is a different story. Anyway, to put it bluntly, this car has proven itself a very tough truck, it simply will not give up. Being twenty years in the family, it made it through thick and thin. Snow, mountainous terrain, and desert, this, now true Ford classic, has always pulled its weight, and then some. What this car is missing, is all modern features, such as Bluetooth, etc. But it never tried to be marketed for this type of demographic even way back at the turn of the century ,c.2000, when everything tech was trying to come out. That fact, only added to its uniqueness, and it was never an issue with my now aging father who was always a car affisionado ever since I was a kid forty, and then some, years ago. A fantastic, rugged, reliable vehicle, and now great addition to my now budding family, this Ford truck now rests with me to rescue my family from the impending zombie apocalypse, UFO encounter, ...or perhaps an outing to an accasional hiking or camping get away.

Its fun to drive, you feel very safe, it handles great. I drive it every day. This vehicle has plenty of power. I am looking at purchasing another one. Fuel economy could be better. All said and done this is one of Fords better ideas!
