Overview

The 1985 Toyota 4Runner was an excellent SUV in its day, and a fun one to rebuild today due to such features as a removable top and relatively easy to enhance engine.
The 1984 Toyota 4Runner remained primarily unchanged from the introductory model of 1984 1/2. A new fuel-injected 2.4-liter 22R-E engine was added as an option, as well as standard rear seats. 1985 was also the last year to find solid axle 4Runners.

Amazing 4wd. Easy to work on (even though it never needs any work). Great on gas (although the 4 cylinder engine is pretty weak). Convertable pick up suv rock crawler. This thing does it all! My parents owned this car before me, and they would put me in the back as my play pen when I was a baby. I would swing on the roll bar and have a great time and it still runs strong today.

Fun exploring vehicle. Gets me everywhere without costing a bunch in gas and repairs. I recommend gussets, high steer, lift, lockers, regearing, heavy duty emu spring, etc... for more serious offroad applications. Great mini truck for that punk kid in all of us that wants to run over things.

I like that it is a tank.but its get-up-and-go not so good, deff not an interstate go-er. appearence: we had it painted not to long ago and we're about to interior stuff but it's still in great condition. it's fun to drive in the mud, through water, so i would say sometimes, yes its fun to drive. =)
