Overview
The 1970 Chevelle has given us some of the hottest muscle car trims ever available. GM lifted a ban on engines over 400 cubic inches, and Chevy responded by creating some monster cars.
Perhaps the best known is the 1970 Chevelle SS 454. A 4.25 x 4 inch bore and stroke in the 454-ci V8 made the ride powerful and quick. Buyers could opt for an LS5, which was rated at 360 horsepower, or the incredible LS6, which featured a 780-cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 450 horsepower at 5,600 rpm.
Only 3,773 SS 454s were produced in 1970, making them very valuable today. The remaining SSs were nothing to sniff at: The base engine was a 402-ci V8 rated at 350 horses. Despite having 402 ci, this trim was still tagged as the SS 396.
A total of 53,599 Chevy Chevelle SSs were produced in 1970.

great car will pass everything but a gas station own a bank to drive daily win the lottery to keep running parts are getting hard to find do not need to have computer knowledge to work on it pliers, screwdriver, and wire are needed to keep running to make it home

This was one of my favourite cars. It had the SS396/375HP package, bored out to 413 with an Isky cam, Weiand manifold and a holley 750cfm carb. The trans was a Turbo 400 with a Hurst dual gate shifter, 12 bolt rear with 3.73 gears. 0-60 times were 5 seconds or less if you could get the tires to hook. If I could buy it back again I would.

The 1970 Chevelle is a definite dream car. The car turns heads period. The rumble of the engine, sound of the exhaust - even just sitting at a red light - will get you more head nods and thumbs up than you would ever expect. The lines are clean on this car and even if the car were just primer colored people would stop to tell you how beautiful the car is.

pure american muscle, with a 396 ci engine and muncie 4 speed. a real head turner. you don't drive this car for the gas mileage, you drive it fun. it's a pavment pounding beast, that burns rubber in all 4 gears. FYI i won this car in the cruisin the coast, make a wish raffle.
