About 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle
Overview

The 1965 Chevelle was the first true muscle car in the model. While the base engine was a 283-ci V8 rated at a respectable 195 horsepower, the Z16 trim featured a 396-ci V8 rated at 375 horsepower.
Other engines included a 283-ci v8 (220 horsepower) and 327-ci V8's, rated at 250, 300, and 350 horsepower. The Z16 remained the fastest of the set, capable of going from 0-60 in just six seconds.
Despite the speed and power behind the car, it drove awkwardly, due to 56% of the weight being over the front wheels.
In addition, the car was a bit of an anomaly: it had a muscle car engine in a sedan-like vehicle built with a convertible frame.

My Chevelle (currently not pictured) is a rags-to-riches story in car form. Bought by my uncle for its rear-end in 1980, it was then bought by my dad, who put a new rear-end, engine and transmission in it. He drove it until 1988, when the reverse gear went and he stopped caring, and it deteriorated in a yard and a driveway until 2002, when he and I (mostly) restored it. It's not stock by any means, as it has a drag suspension on it, since it was a drag car in the sixties and seventies. Since it only went a quarter-mile at a time, it only has ~6,000 miles on it. I don't live where the car is stored, so I only get the chance to drive it a handful of times a year, but I love it.

American muscle baby and thats really all I need to say.No this particular photo is not my car but it is what it will look like when i'm finished restoring it.Performance wise it's a muscle car what do you think. One word HORSEPOWER.Cost of ownership priceless.Build quality:45 years and still here let's see some of these new cars say that.Appearance at the moment is under restoration so no comment.Fuel milage:HORSEPOWER who cares.Fun to drive: Hell yeah!!! By the way it doesn't matter what you drive as long as you like it.But any car person knows respect the classics no matter the manufacturer.

This car has about 37,000 original miles on it. It came from Texas. Everything is original except the sound system, seat upholstery, carpet, battery and tires. It is an old man's car. It has a 230 CID 6 cylinder engine with a manual "3 on the tree" shifter. It's a 4 door and it still has the original paint which I want to re-do. It has some original dents and dings but it's a lot of fun to drive.

It's a project, recently aquired. It's my big metal garden nomb. It will have a 302 stroker in the form of a 327,using a 283 crank' and pink arms. It's a work in progress, and it's mine I have a set of rally rims for it for now,but will upgrade to Cragars,or Welds later. I plan to paint her midnight black, with orange and gold metal flake. The interior is light grey, and will remain such. As for sound I plan to go old school stock with a few additions, like better speakers and a functional 8 track. What you don't have one.LOL.
