Who Makes Saturn Cars?

Saturn was founded in 1985 as a response to GM’s lack of affordable, compelling small cars. They were branded as a “different kind of car company.” Saturn produced efficient compact cars at GM plants. At first, they were produced on dedicated platforms using shared components with other General Motors vehicles. Later vehicles were produced on shared GM platforms. Saturn arguably had its most compelling vehicle lineup by the late 2000s, however, its lineup was too similar to the rest of the GM portfolio at a time of significant cost-cutting. GM shuttered the Saturn brand in 2010.

What Sort of Vehicles Does Saturn Make?

Saturn began with the S-Series; a compact car with sedan, wagon, and coupe body styles and featured dent-resistant plastic body panels.a The S-Series spanned two generations from 1990 to 1999. It was replaced with the ION in 2000. The L-Series was a midsize sedan sold from 2000 to 2005, when it was replaced with the Aura. Saturn introduced the VUE crossover SUV for the 2002 model year. Its second generation only lasted from 2008 to 2010. Saturn even had a sports car called the Sky, which was sold from 2007 to 2010.
