Who Makes Hummer Cars?

Hummer was originally its own standalone brand, called AM General. It sold the Hummer H1 (1992-2004), which was a civilian variant of the military HMMVV, or “Humvee.” It was followed by the H2 (2003-2009, which was built by AM General and marketed by General Motors. Then there was the (2006-2010) H3, which was a fully GM product. Today, the Hummer EV SUV and truck are models sold under the GMC brand, which is a division of General Motors. They are built in Detroit, Michigan.

What Sort of Vehicles Does Hummer Make?

The Hummer H1 was a massive and brutish SUV that was spartan compared to modern standards. The H2 was meant to be a more urbane take on the concept, and was still large and capable. The H3 was a midsize SUV and pickup, based on the Chevrolet Colorado platform. The current Hummer EV is sold under the GMC brand, and is offered as a two-row SUV or a four-door pickup. Both are some of the largest and heaviest electric vehicles sold today. The Hummer EV has swift acceleration, lots of high-tech features, and impressive off-road capabilities.
