Kia certified pre-owned vehicles (CPO) come with many benefits over “normal” used vehicles, but before being included in the program, each vehicle must meet several criteria. In order to become a CPO, the Kia must:
• Pass a 164-point inspection • Be from within the last 6 model years • Have fewer than 80,000 miles • Be free from major damage or collision • Have a clean vehicle history report
Warranties
Powertrain Warranty
Kia CPO vehicles carry the same 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty that new Kia vehicles do. Coverage for CPO vehicles starts on the original in-service date. The powertrain warranty protects against mechanical breakdowns of the engine, transmission, and drive axle. There is a $50 deductible per covered repair.
Non-Powertrain Warranty
Kia’s CPO vehicles include what it calls “Platinum Coverage”, which is a non-powertrain warranty that covers nearly every other part of the vehicle outside of the powertrain. Coverage begins on the CPO vehicle’s sale date and runs for one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. It’s completely transferable to a subsequent owner of the Kia.
Extended Coverage
Kia offers the ability to upgrade or supplement the included warranty coverage. Extended time and mileage limits for coverage, prepaid maintenance plans, and tire/wheel protection plans are all available. Pricing and specific coverage varies per vehicle and all services might not be available for all vehicles.

Emergency Roadside Assistance
Kia CPO vehicles come with roadside assistance for the duration of 10 years and an unlimited number of miles. Coverage begins on the CPO vehicle’s sale date and includes:
• Towing service with up to $75 per instance covered • Flat-tire changeover • Emergency fuel delivery • Lockout service • Jump starts
Travel Reimbursement
If your Kia breaks down more than 100 miles from home, you may be eligible for up to $100 per day in reimbursements for travel expenses for up to 5 days.
Subscriptions
Every Kia CPO vehicle comes with a 3-month trial to SiriusXM satellite radio.
