What’s New for the 2026 Honda Passport
For 2026, Honda has completely revamped the Passport’s exterior and interior. The SUV now has a boxier shape, a blunter front end for improved approach angles, and enhanced off-road features such as 31-inch tires, flared fenders, and wider front and rear tracks. It also includes Honda's TrailWatch camera system, which provides multiple camera angles and graphics to aid off-road navigation. The 2026 Passport is available in three trims: RTL, TrailSport, and the high-end TrailSport Elite.
Design
The 2026 Passport’s exterior redesign includes a squared-off look and a 2.75-inch longer wheelbase, which adds stability and increases rear legroom. A unique matte black rear roof section, or “backpack” design, helps prevent scratches when leaning items against the vehicle. The RTL trim includes a black grille and 18-inch Shark Gloss Gray alloy wheels with all-season tires. The TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims add gloss black grilles, amber DRLs, General Grabber all-terrain tires, and silver underbody trim. Additional off-road features include orange recovery hooks and underbody skid plates on TrailSport models.
Powertrain
The Passport continues to use a 3.5-liter V6 engine, now producing 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque—an increase of 5 hp from the previous model. A new 10-speed automatic transmission replaces the former nine-speed unit, paired with all-wheel drive (AWD) and seven selectable driving modes: Normal, ECON, Sport, Snow, Sand, Tow, and Trail. The 2026 Passport has a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds and a reinforced body for improved handling both on and off-road.

Interior
The interior gains additional passenger and cargo space, aided by the Passport’s longer wheelbase and wider track. Rear passengers now have 1.3 inches of extra legroom, and cargo volume behind the second row has increased to 44 cubic feet. Honda has enhanced cabin storage with multiple compartments, including 10 cup holders, a center console that fits a tablet, and a dash-mounted shelf. New “Body Stabilizing Seats” are designed to reduce driver fatigue, enhancing comfort on long journeys.
Technology
The 2026 Passport includes a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (up from 8 inches) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging, and USB-C ports. For the first time, Google built-in is included, adding access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other apps. TrailSport models feature 110-volt outlets in the center console and cargo area, while the TrailSport Elite adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Safety
The 2026 Passport comes with Honda Sensing, which includes a suite of active safety features with improved cameras and sensors for greater accuracy. Standard features include blind-spot monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. Honda aims for a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), reflecting the SUV’s reinforced safety features.

Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, Honda states the 2026 Passport will go on sale early next year, with a starting price in the mid-$40,000 range. For reference, the 2025 Passport begins at $42,400, excluding a $1,395 destination fee. Expect more specific pricing details to be available closer to the launch date.
