What’s New for the 2025 BMW 3 Series
The most notable updates to the 2025 BMW 3 Series include the latest iDrive infotainment system, as well as revisions to the dash layout and the steering wheel. There are also some new colors available.
Design
The 3 Series maintains its outward appearance as a rear-wheel-drive-biased luxury sport sedan, with a short trunk lid and long hood. The LED headlights have dual signatures on each side, as a callback to older generations with dual headlights. They frame up the sedan’s signature twin-kidney grille.
Powertrain
The base 3 Series powertrain is found in the 330i. It is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M340i comes equipped with a twin-turbocharged inline-six, which partners with a 48-volt mild hybrid to produce 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or available xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD).
The 330i is available with an M Sport package that includes the noted exterior elements, as well as a sport suspension. This package is standard on the M340i. Both trims are available with an adaptive suspension system.
The most efficient version of the 2025 BMW 3 Series is the 330i with rear-wheel drive (RWD). It returns fuel economy of 31 mpg combined. The least efficient configuration is the M340i with xDrive AWD. This version returns 29 mpg combined. The BMW 3 Series required premium fuel.
Interior
Standard features on the 3 Series include sport front seats, a power moonroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and synthetic leather upholstery for the rest of the cabin. A Convenience Package adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat with driver lumbar support, and a Premium Package adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Technology
The 2025 3 Series comes with the latest version of BMW’s infotainment system, dubbed iDrive 8.5. It features improved voice controls and a new home screen that will constantly have the navigation map on display. It also features wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless device charging is included in the Convenience Package.
Safety
The 2025 BMW 3 Series comes equipped with a number of advanced driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing wipers, pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams. Available driver-assistance tech includes front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and a head-up display.
