What’s New for the 2024 Nissan Murano
For 2024, the Nissan Murano midsize crossover SUV dispenses with its base S trim, which raises its starting price somewhat-though with an increase in value as well. Otherwise, the Murano carries on mostly unchanged from its last full redesign in 2015, with minor styling and tech updates in the years since.
Design
The Nissan Murano, once relatively innovative with its rounded profile, contrast D-pillar, and floating roof effect, now looks unremarkable at best and dated at worst compared to other midsize SUV rivals that also latched on to that trend but have since moved on. At least we can say the Murano is inoffensive, with simple design, standard 18-inch wheels, and available 20-inch wheels.
Powertrain
The 2024 Nissan Murano comes standard with a single engine across the lineup, and though it’s not especially impressive for a midsize SUV, it gets the job done. The Murano rates 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque from its 3.5-liter V6, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and the choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Regardless of drive configuration, the Murano is rated for 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined.

Interior
The Nissan Murano comes standard with push-button start, synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and heated front seats. Options include leather upholstery, premium leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a dual-panel moonroof, and a hands-free power liftgate. The Murano offers 32.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which opens up to a below-average maximum of 67 cubic feet.
Technology
The Murano’s age shows through here. The 2024 Murano comes standard with proximity keyless entry, push-button start, an outdated but user-friendly 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system, and four USB ports. Options are thin, but navigation and an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system are on offer.
Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the 2024 Nissan Murano the highest rating of “Good” in four crash tests, though the updated side crash test resulted in just a “Marginal,” the second-lowest rating. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2024 Murano a five-star overall safety rating. Standard features include forward automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights. Options include adaptive cruise control, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, and traffic-sign recognition.

Pricing and Release Date
