What’s New for the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L
The Wagoneer L was introduced for the 2023 model year, and for 2024, the V8 engine has been discontinued, making the Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six the lone engine offering. But don’t fret about losing two cylinders, as this turbocharged six-cylinder makes serious power.
Design
The Wagoner L has an imposing presence, capped off by a tall profile and commanding front-end design. The L has a 130-inch wheelbase, making for one large vehicle.
Trims for the Wagoneer L are Series I, Series II, and Series III. The Series I comes equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels. Series II and III come with 20-inch alloy wheels and are available with 22-inch alloy wheels. A Carbide package is offered on the Series II, replacing much of the exterior brightwork with dark accents. This package also comes with black 22-inch wheels.
Powertrain
As previously mentioned, a twin-turbo inline-six is now the only available engine. It makes 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, and the base Series I comes standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD). Four-wheel drive (4WD) is optional on the Series I and standard on all other trims.
With RWD, the Wagoneer L returns fuel economy of 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. That shifts to 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined with 4WD. When properly equipped, the Wagoneer L can tow an impressive 10,000 pounds.

Interior
Cargo space is where the Wagoneer L stands out from the standard Wagoneer. The stretched version provides up to 130.9 cubic feet of cargo space, accessed via a standard power liftgate. Deploying the second row still leaves 85.3 cubic feet of cargo space, and, with all seats in use, there are still 42.1 cubic feet behind the third row. The Wagoneer L provides room for eight passengers with the second-row bench or seven with second-row captain’s chairs.
Standard features on the 2024 Wagoneer L include push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, a wall-style power outlet, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and power-adjustable front seats. Available features include heated second-row seats, wireless device charging, and upgraded Nappa leather upholstery.
Technology
The 2024 Wagoneer L comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is available with a 19-speaker McIntosh premium stereo system, a rear-seat entertainment system, and even a front passenger-side 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Safety
Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors. Upgraded trims and options packages add features such as automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, lane-keep assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and a head-up display.
