Genesis made a name for itself building reasonably priced luxury vehicles that compare favorably to the much more expensive and far more well-established premium vehicles from Europe and Japan. The car is a full-size luxury sedan with traffic-stopping styling and loads of the latest tech and comfort features, and its sub-$100,000 starting price makes it a surprising value in its segment.

What’s New for the 2024 Genesis G90?
The second generation of the G90 debuted for the 2021 model year. For 2024, it received no substantive changes.
Design
Genesis’s vehicles are among the most uniquely styled and eye-catching on the road today. The G90 features a large semi-triangular grille with slim dual-unit headlights on either side. Its lines are long and flowing, and the roof gently slopes toward the tidy rear end. Though there’s plenty of chrome on its exterior, the car doesn’t look or feel gaudy or too showy, and its under-the-radar look is a refreshing change from some of the more garish designs seen in the latest sedans from BMW and others.
Powertrain
Genesis offers two powertrain options for the 2024 G90. The base engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 making 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. A version of this engine with an added electric supercharger, producing 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque, is also available.
Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive (AWD). While the base engine is down more than 30 horsepower on the optional mill, it’s more than capable of propelling this full-size car to extra-legal speeds with no complaints. The eight-speed automatic is responsive and shifts smoothly, and AWD provides sure-footed traction and handling in a range of poor weather conditions.
Interior
The five-seat G90 features spacious accommodations in both rows, and Nappa leather upholstery comes standard. Other standard interior features include heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, power-retractable rear sunshades, and powered soft-close doors. Available features include reclining rear seats, massaging front seats, and a rear footrest.
Technology
Genesis’ infotainment software is less complicated than many competitors’ interfaces, but that simplicity makes it easy to use while driving and less distracting. The system runs flawlessly on the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster comes standard. The generous list of standard tech features also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, SiriusXM, HD radio, Bluetooth, three-zone automatic climate controls, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more.
Safety
The 2024 Genesis G90 earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), thanks in part to its extensive list of standard safety gear. Genesis equips a highway driving-assistance system, parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a blind-spot camera system, driver-attention monitor, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, safe exit assist, and much more.
Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, the 2024 Genesis G90 base model starts at $90,450, which includes a $1,250 destination charge. The G90 with the upgraded engine package starts at $100,750.
