I replaced my Serpentine belt, now car won’t start?

Asked by Steve May 29, 2020 at 06:27 PM about the 2003 Saturn VUE Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced a broken serpentine belt. After replacing
my car won’t start. Makes a funny grinding noise
I’ve never heard before. My car started every time
and ran perfectly fine before the old belt broke and
came off.

Take the belt off and see if it starts. If it does you have the belt routed incorrectly.
