I have a 78 Cadillac it has no power when I put it in gear

I changed spark plugs wires condenser cap and rotor runs good in idle put in
gear no power

If it's in park it will rev ? I had a few clunkers that would do this , motor would rev. up in park or neutral but would not accelerate or rev. up in gear . Hit the gas and nothing , Never found out why .
