Use the switch to turn them off.

There may be more than one switch controlling your interior lights. One is at the end of the wheel that controls the brightness of the dash lights. The other is on the dome light lens. When the dome switch is set to "door", the light go out 5-10 seconds after the door is closed. The car also has a battery saver that shuts lights off after 10-20 minutes.
