I would think so , here in the vampire state I've heard charging a $100 is easier than a gift .
You can buy a vehicle from whomever you want. But if the sale price is suspiciously low be prepared to produce documents proving that was the real sale price. Hope that helps! Jim
I would not buy a car from any of my relatives! If you are referring to buying from a relative of the cars owner you should know that if their name is not on the title they cannot legally sell it unless they have a power of attorney.

F_O_R has a very good point, Be sure of ownership... Check the vehicle, even more than you would from a stranger. So, relative maybe, a friend, never! As far as the actual question, you CAN do anything, Should you?
