Why my car won't start

I recently had my serpentine belt replaced
because it had broke and I also replace the
battery because it was weak but my car still
will not start it just clicks like it's trying to
turn over I don't know what else I should
before going to a mechanic any advice
would help since I'm very low on funds

Did the car start up after installing the new battery? If not, then the starter solenoid may have burned out. Alternatively the starter itself may be worn and drawing more current- but that doesn't usually cause the clicking noise. Also, be sure and check the battery cable connections- loose or corroded terminals will cause this problem.
