Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I want to review a dealer from whom I purchased a car advertised on your
website. It won't let me.

I saw their ad on CarGurs.com for a 2020 Lexus RX 350 AWD with 47k miles. The ad said it had the Luxury Package, Navigation System and Remote Start, all features that I was looking for. Based on their listing, I negotiated a price of $33,600 delivered to my house in Atlanta. I wasn't worried about buying this way as the ad said the dealer Return Policy was, "If the car delivered isn't as described, request a return within 7 days of arrival." When the car arrived, it looked very nice but that evening as I was going through all the buttons on the car, I realized it did not have any of the features in the Luxury Package, no Navigation System or Remote Start. I complained to the dealership the next day and after sending overnight letters to the Owner, the General Manager and the Sales Manager to record my position within the 7 days, they refuse to take it back as advertised. The dealer claims it is all CarGurus problem. I later checked their Cars.com listing for this car and the dealer erroneously claimed it had the Navigation System and Remote Start. And I later checked the dealerships own website and it listed features not on the car. The car dealerships website says, "At Landers McLarty Subaru, we believe credibility, integrity and transparency is crucial to the car buying process." That certainly was not my experience!

Hi Richard. If you contacted the dealer through Cargurus you will receive an email, in about two weeks, asking for your review. Your experience is exactly why it's so important, especially if you're buying long distance, to check the vehicle in person or have it inspected by a professional inspection company before you decide to buy it. That way you know exactly what you're buying. I've used lemonsquad.com for my long distance purchases with excellent results. Ad content is solely the responsibility of the seller. Just like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. The problem with this is you have to go to where the dealer is to file any complaints. Jim
