Question type: Shopping & Pricing

For example a used car with high mileage they cannot be certified.  Should u only deal
with the brand dealers and not mom and pop dealers. Also my search is for hybrid truck
which very hard to find. I want a 2011 escalade or denali. Also is 80k too many miles.
Thanks so much

Make contact with someone in the area if that is an option. Ask that person to go out and view the vehicle and then report back to you. Have the seller do a video chat while demonstrating the good condition of the vehicle. There are all kinds of live chats these days. Have them upload a video to Youtube and you can check the date the video was made by telling them to do it on a certain day and have a newspaper or soemthing in the video displaying the date.

Quite simple, the only secure way is to use a third party inspection facility such as Lemon Squad, you can not worry about purchasing a vehicle when a reliable company is going over the vehicle and giving you an unbiased opinion.

(DISCLAIMER: I'm a Chevy dealer trying to help answer questions first, maybe sell a vehicle, but that's secondary.) 1) The vehicle you're trying to find is nearly non-existent: there's a reason we don't make the full-size hybrid vehicles anymore. They didn't sell well because there was almost no difference in fuel mileage. 2) Look at online dealer reviews. We sell vehicles all over the US because of our reputation. 3) If you buy a vehicle online, get it in writing that your deposit is refundable of you don't like the vehicle once you see it. My dealership doesn't require a deposit (we do business on a handshake), so that part for us is easy.

I had a bad experience with Lemon Squad. I had an inspection done but had a feeling that the quality was just not there (they had missed some obvious scratches and the car had some vibrations that I felt were outside the norm for the vehicle). I brought it into a local mechanic about 3 weeks after their inspection and found that I needed 2800 dollars in repairs. When I asked for a refund Lemon Squad told me since it was after 14 days I could take a hike. They really don't stand behind their inspections.
