Charging the battery.from the alternator to the battery

What would prevent the alternator from getting the
charge to the battery both units work been tested &
still won't charge the battery

Fuse was blown, replaced now recharging battery before trying to start. Hope this was my problem. Will reply after fully charging battery. Thanks
