Yes, you have to order it but also try ordering from America's Tire (it's cheaper) to order your spare from them. I also ordered a new set of wheels and tires one size smaller on the wheel one size taller on the tire in order to keep the bumpyness down on long drives and our mileage has not been affected.

The Niro Hybrid cargo area wheel well will take a full size tire mounted on an aluminum rim identical to what's already holding up your car. That said, a compact spare will leave a lot of empty space in the wheel well. If you get a compact spare and tool kit from Kia, you will have spent over 2/3rds of what it costs for a full Michelin and new aluminum wheel. Donuts are OK. It's just that I'd prefer to eat them rather than be forced to drive 400 miles on one just to get where I'm going ... and then there's always the getting back to consider.
