Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My dads 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertible won't start. It has been in the
garage for at least 2 months. We tried to start it and it won't start. We put about
4 gallons of gas in it and it still won't start. Any suggestions or tips on how to get
it to start.

Check for proper fuel , spark , If it's a no fuel problem check the line where it goes over the rear axle it may be rotted out . If it's spark replace the condenser under the distributor cap

Pour a little gasoline directly into the carburetor and make sure the choke is closed. When a vehicle like this sits for a time the gasoline evaporates out of the carburetor. You can also spray a little starting fluid down the carburetor. Hope that helps! Jim
