water leak

I own a 98 eclipse gs spyder. When it rains, car gets water logged in rear seat area. You can hear the swishing of water back and forth as you drive.Rear seats and rugs are drenched. Top is not leaking. So where is this water entering? Also rugs soaked all the way to the front of the car. Where are the drain plugs located forthis vehicle? Are there any drain plugs in trunk,rear seat areas?

I would guess the water has to be coming in where the top meets the trunk area. Can you fold your back seats forward and watch as someone sprays a hose over the rear of your car? If you can't see any visible leaks with the top up, it must be coming in from behind the back seats. Is your trunk full of water? Check your spare tire storage area and any other compartments in the trunk. A common problem is the tail light seals will dry rot and let rain in through the trunk. Also, inspect the rubber seal on your trunk lid.
