Are there any 1999 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ high-mileage runners out there?

Question type: General

Curious if anyone has run their 1999 Galant GTZ more than 235,000 miles?  Does
Mitsubishi have any contacts for high mileage Mitsu's?  I'll keep driving mine until it dies.
Shooting for 300K miles, or more.  It's become my personal engineering project, in a sense.
Thanks in advance for any constructive input!

i got a 01 gtz galant with 238,5 on it and the trans went. no gears just neutral and park. the suspension is pretty well shot as well. only 1000 dollar fix.. but still i wouldnt get it to be honest. there not worth that much as the years go on.

Do any of you know that Mits only built 1500 1999 galant GTZ's? This was not ment to be an endurance vehicle. This is a very fast and extremely tight handling package. I have one with around 135,000 miles on it. It still will run very very fast and the exceleration is not to be belived.

@bedbug1: I did not know there were only 1500 built. Interesting info and good to know. I would think there's a way to determine which number mine is. I'm up to 257,000 miles now since I originally posted back in December '09. I agree, this car is pretty tight - lots of pep left in it and I still run it fairly spirited when I drive. I did need to replace both rear suspensions, right side back in Feb '11 and just recently replaced the left side a week ago. Cold weather induced in both cases, most likely, in addition to the number of years I've had the car. Although, a severe railroad crossing helped dislodge the right side. Thanks to everyone else that posted on this. Some good information to share.

I have a 2002 Galant ES that just reached 300,000 miles on 8/10/12. My mother was the original owner. I got it at around 150k miles. NO major problems at all aside from the heater core going out, but that happened while still under warranty! My new dream car is a BMW 5 series but I would NEVER get rid of my galant!
