My 2001 Mitsubishi  Montero only goes into 2 an
reverse

1 Answer

Just had this issue as I was stuck in 3rd and reverse only, Contact some "foreign" import car parts store or local junk yards to find a used and or rebuilt transmission for your exact model. Should run you $500-600. Then find a local transmission guy only (preferably in the hood) to install it. This way you'll save a ton of money vs the dealer and national chains that work on transmissions. This cost will run you (pending on what it takes) somewhere btwn $600-1000. And it's going to take some time, as it took them about 2 weeks to properly fix mine!
