2019 GMC Terrain sensor

Asked by skatantwin667 Oct 16, 2023 at 07:56 AM about the 2019 GMC Terrain SLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Terrain won’t turn on, when I push the start button
nothing happens and then I can remote start it no
problem. When I don’t do anything and let the remote
start time out then the car starts just fine and drives
just fine this is every time it will start up after the time
out and this problem doesn’t happen all the time.
Jumpstart doesn’t do anything and I’ve replaced the
car battery and still didn’t start. If I mess with it like
try to start it multiple times it won’t start after the
timeout but if you leave it be it starts right away. It’s
happened after sitting overnight as well as running
into a store real quick and the battery said 14.5v
before turning off. I posted in another forum where a
person had the same problem and they said it turned
out being a sensor on the drivers window but can’t
find the paperwork to say what exactly it was. So my
question is what sensor could cause this issue or
what could cause this issue. I should also say there is
no message on the dash indicating anti theft is active.

Update I replaced oddly enough the drivers side window switch, there is a service bulletin that points out some send signals to the body control module to go into add new key mode. I don’t know if it has something to do with it but now my reverse tilt on drivers side don’t work and can’t move passenger side mirror but I still take it as a win
