2002 Mercury Sable taillights/dashlights out and fuse keeps blowing; what do I do?

Asked by NorthIdahoGuy Oct 28, 2015 at 08:21 PM about the 2002 Mercury Sable LS Premium Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced the heater core and when finished, the tail lights and dash
lights have stopped working due to a blown fuse. After replacing the fuse #29,
it keeps blowing. What do I do?

Did you pinch a wire? Both the tail lights and dash lights are on the same circuit. There is the possibility that it is a coincidence but I would be looking for damaged or pinched wires in the area where you worked.

To also add to F.o.R answer. sounds like something (wire) got inadvertently bumped, blowing fuses is a short to ground...
