Asked by Samantha Jul 01, 2014 at 09:59 PM about the 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck makes popping sounds
while driving it as well as even louder
when you turn the wheel.  Looked
under the car and the stabilizing bar
is broken.

Don't try to change the 4 wheel to a 2 wheel drive. Your vehicle isn't made for it and you'll just make a mess of things.
