Asked by Nicole Nov 27, 2017 at 09:25 AM about the 2018 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

A dealer is offering me the new 2018 Honda
civic sedan ex for 28 thousand all in licencing
and tax included and it's regular $29055 plus
licensing. Do you think I should take this deal?
I know it's not crazy good but for a honda I
haven't heard of them offering much less then
asking price.
Thanks for any input!

Nicole, Like I have always told my my kids, if you can afford to pay the monthly bill then yes buy it, if not then don't. I think Honda makes a good product and is an affordable car to fix in the coming years. Make sure there is no bull in what the sales guy is offering. These men are like snakes in the grass. Have him draw up the contract for your review, look for add on fees that make no sense. If the 20,000 is a good price take it and shop around, look on line for maybe a better deal.

Honda makes some of the most dependable cars on the road today. Because of their reputation, discounts are hard to come by as they are in high demand. I'd say that's a pretty good deal PROVIDED that their are no hidden costs/fees in the contract. Be sure to read everything over well and if that is the TRUE out the door cost, I would say go for it as long as your payments are within your means.

That is a lot for a Civic. Shop around and see if you can get a better deal. Have you used online price guides?

Send an email to every Honda dealer within 50 to 100 miles. Ask them for their best "out the door" price for exact car that you want. I was able to tell the closesrydealer that another dealer offered the car at $1000 less than their best iffery. If they could meet the offer I would have my car serviced at their shop. I got a 2017 awd crv ex for less than the cost of your Civic. Take the time to send emails and have them fight for your business. Check the sales document carefully for hidden fees and make sure the price matches up. Try to secure financing before the purchase. A federal credit Union is a good place to start. Car dealerships will try to screw you every step of the way. Do not buy any add on like Auto Butler cleaning service or any other nonsense. Just ask for total price out the for 2018 Honda Civic ex feel free you'll be purchasing from the dealer with the best offer within 250 miles. If they want a sale then they'll give you best price. Some dealers just need to meet a quota to make Honda incentive cash and will take a loss in your deal. Be firm in the finance department, they're used to scaring you and acting like bulldogs. Ex. Do you want the Auto Butler? ...no....so you don't want to protect your investment?...stuff like that. Truecar.com is showing that the market average selling price for a 2018 civic ex with sensing technology is $22,000. Now go get that deal!
