factory alarm system in 2001 mazda tribute

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a mazda with a factory installed alarm system. If the door locks get
out of sequence the alarm keeps the car from starting. The problem is, it is
happening periodically. I first noticed it when I got a cd stuck in the factory
stereo and it shorted out. The car cranks but doesn't turn over just like it was
advertised to do. I took it to a mechanic who found the short and then they
had a stereo co. remove the radio. Everything worked for a while until it
wouldn't , so I used the kets in the door and locked and unlocked the car a
few times and the car started. I believe there is a glitch in the alarm system.
Can this be reset?

This sounds like one or more of the door sensors are not sending the correct signals to the security module. Sounds like a trip to the dealer for diagnostics maybe in your future.
