Why did my Car stop running in the middle of the road and wont turn over

2007 mustang stopped in the middle
of the road. Tried jumping it off since it
wouldn't start and it tries to crank but
won't turn over. A belt was squeaking
prior to this also.Any suggestions?

Aside from the squeaking belt were there any other unusual noises that could have been a factor?
