Is there a better set of Carbs for my Healey?

Asked by Fastgary Feb 07, 2020 at 10:43 AM about the 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there a better set of carberators I could put on my car other
than the stock
twin SU ones?

1 Answer

You can go to triple SU's which is all your engine needs. Moss Motors sells a set. Forget Webers as they are hard to tune and I doubt they would add power unless you build the engine with cams, headers, head work etc. SU's are darn good carbs. My Jag has 3 2" SU's.
