has to be the cam sensor, are you getting them from auto zone, advance auto,if so try napa or a independent parts dealer, better parts.
Thanks for the info papa. I had bought the sensor from advance. I replaced that sensor with a mopar oem sensor. The jeep ran for 90 min and died again, but this time it gave me two codes,p0340 cam sensor and p1391 manf. control ignition system or misfire. one of the possible causes listed was crankshaft posistion sensor. I replaced the crank. pos. sensor with a mopar oem. The jeep has now ran for a week. hopefully problem is fixed. dano02
Is your jeep running now I have the same prolem with 2006 jeep liberty
yes, the Jeep has been running great ever since. I also found alot of info on this at JeepForum.com This seems to be a pretty common problem with Jeeps. There are videos on youtube showing how to replace them. Both are pretty quick and easy to change.
my 02 jeep liberty will start up everytime but it makes a rumbling noise and you can smell the gas but no smoke coming out the tailpipe it will drive but once warm it will cut off but it will restart and drive
