does a 2009 denali gmc shut down four of the eight cylinders when they're not needed to save fuel?

I resently bought a 2009 denali and it seems eight cylinder, my question is if The denali shut down to four cylinders by itself or do i press a button?

It should do it on its own if so equipped. Your owners manual should shed some light on this for you.
