jeep liberty 2002 life span

Not sure that I would ever call a Jeep reliable (although they did serve well for the soldiers during WWII). Consumer Reports has no data on the 2002 model that I could but the '05 and '06 had problems in various areas. Check out this owner review information on the 2002 from Edmunds.com: http://www.edmunds.com/jeep/liberty/2002/review/
The only major problems I've ever heard of on older Liberties was power windows in 2004-2005 models. We had a 2003 that never gave us a bit of trouble.
I found a great site called carcomplaints.com. It will give you how many people reported problems on their site, and how many were reported to the NHTSA. After you look up the year of your vehicle, it has a neat selection where you can compare all of the years of those vehicles and find out which years had more problems, and what they were. Really good site.
I have 2002 grand cherokee with 300,000+ miles on it, I wouldnt think the Liberty would be that far behind it
I drive an 04 liberty limited that has 250,000 miles. Only thing I've EVER done to it is change the tranny fluid and oil and tires. Never had any problems period.
